About
The Hunter F.1 is the RAF’s first production variant, developed with a new Avon 113 turbojet and swept-wing design. It served as Britain’s frontline interceptor before being succeeded by later models.
Playstyle
A boom-and-zoom energy fighter. It performs best when flown at or above optimal speed. The heavy, cannon-armed Hunter F.1 hits hard in head-ons or high-speed dives and uses airbrakes to maintain optimal speeds. Low-speed handling is poor, and it struggles in sustained turn fights.
Pros and Cons
Pros
➕ Extremely powerful armament (four 30 mm ADEN cannons)
➕ Excellent optimal and high speeds
➕ Fast roll rate, aiding energy fighting
➕ Equipped with airbrakes for speed control
Cons
➖ Incredibly poor turn rate—best avoided in dogfights
➖ Below-average thrust-to-weight—limits climb and acceleration
