About
The Bf 109 K-4, or "Kurfürst" (Prince-elector), represents the pinnacle and final mass-produced iteration of the renowned Bf 109 series. Designed with an emphasis on production ease rather than new performance breakthroughs, it nonetheless achieved an excellent power-to-weight ratio and acceleration, making it a formidable late-war German fighter. It entered front-line service around September 1944.
Playstyle
The Bf 109 K-4 excels as an energy fighter, best utilized for Boom & Zoom tactics due to its quick speed, fast climb rate, and excellent energy retention. It can "dance in the sky" with vertical maneuvers, quickly gaining altitude and diving on targets. While it possesses good agility at medium speeds, its low-speed maneuverability is poor, and it struggles in turn fights. Pilots should avoid sustained turning engagements and instead focus on maintaining speed and altitude. Using the rudder during rolls can significantly increase its roll rate.
